In 1989 I visited a Ragdoll cattery with a friend and came home with two of these wonderful darlings.  They have remained a great source of love in my life ever since. 

My first litter of Ragdolls was in 1990. Previously I bred Persians for 21 years but once I found the Ragdoll, I made a decision to switch breeds. 

I have 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

I retired from State Government in Raleigh, NC 12/2015 and moved to Biloxi, MS to be closer to family. 

I love my retirement community where we each have our own home and I am still able to raise my kittens even though on a smaller scale.

It seems I keep getting older each year (yuck) and it gets harder taking care of several litters at a time.  Shanell was the vet tech for my vet, and I got to know her pretty well. I started asking Shanell for help in raising a litter or two as she raises them the same way------ in the bed with her.  Socializing babies is so important and their cat tree is right by her bed.  Her mom lives with her, so they have constant companionship.

When Shanell asked me about her wanting a girl and to raise a litter on her own, it seemed like an angel was sent from Heaven.  She is so perfect to be a breeder and we have decided to work together.  Some of you are saying:  I want to buy a kitten from you and not someone else.  Please don't worry.  You will still be getting the kitten you want.  I would not be working so closely with Shanell if I thought she would not raise them the way I want.  I am hoping soon to make Shanell a full partner with Rags2riches Ragdolls and that someday (hoping not too soon) she will completely take over my cattery.  I think you all know that that is something I would never do without complete satisfaction.  I have an excellent reputation because I will always try and produce the best but also will always be there for my customers.  I would want that to continue, and it will with Shanell. 

I was born and raised in Tampa Florida.  I moved to Mississippi in 2007.   I received my veterinarian technician license in 1999 and have a passion for small animal care.  

I have been working in the field for 23 years and specialize in emergency, rehabilitation and wellness care.  I am presently employed as a Vet Tech in a large animal clinic with 8 veterinarians.

I have 3 daughters, one son, and grandchildren, two dogs and 6 cats.

I met Scottie 6 years ago when she was a client.  Once there was a problem with a baby that needed 24-hour care and i was asked to help by bringing the baby home with me when the clinic was closed.  Since that time, Scottie and I have been friends and she has constantly called on me to baby sit kittens, and pregnant moms while she is on vacation.  Seems when she plans cruises or vacations the cats get pregnant just so they will deliver at that time????

Guess by now you know I had totally fallen in love with the Ragdoll.  I finally got up the nerve to ask Scottie if I could maybe get a girl and raise a litter of my own.  Never expecting what I was asking for, but I am so excited to be working with Scottie and having four girls of my own plus my own lynx boy.  Scottie picked out all of my girls and my boy for me as she knows who to purchase from and that Personality is so important.

I am hoping to always be there for Scottie and all the babies we raise.  Being a Vet Tech can certainly come in handy in many situations.  I am hoping all of you customers will accept me and know that I plan to produce babies just the way Scottie does.
